HISTORICAL MARKER
Mississippi Drive & Iowa Avenue
This granite stone
marks the site
of the first log cabin erected in the area
in 1833 by Mr. Farnham.
Later, Col. John Vanater purchased the site,
and in 1836 founded the town of Bloomington,
the forerunner of Muscatine, Iowa.
